Arenal Petit
S'Arenal Petit is situated next to the village of Portinatx, located between s'Arenal Gros a sea promenade goes from this beach to the smaller one- and Punta de sa Torre or des Marès. The puntas Galera and de sa Torre are the sides of the entrance of Cala Portinatx, in the interior of which there are several coves, this is the third one. The external area of Cala Portinatx is an excellent place for sailing sports. This cove is surrounded by touristy buildings and it is a very small inlet, with a surface covered by dark not very fine-grained sand and some pine trees, the slope is gentle (at 25 metres from the coast there is a depth of one metre), the ground is sandy, except on the sides where there are some rocks, the orientation is toward northwest and the wind is very gentle, blowing toward the sea. At the rear there are still some rests of a thick pine wood which used to be in this area, as well as the mouth of a torrent, before the construction of touristy buildings. These morphological characteristics make this coastal stretch very safe for children and elderly people, as well as for surface diving. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located at one kilometre. These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded local visitors and tourists.
