Cala Mitjana
Cala Mitjana is situated at seven kilometres from Ferreries (the highest menorcan village), located between Penyal Alt de s'Anglès and es Pont de n'Aleix, as well as next to the village Cala Santa Galdana. It belongs to the Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès which goes until the beach of Binigaus. The pilgrim falcon, several species of bats, frogs, toads and shrews live in this beautiful coastal stretch. The beach is the result of a sea inlet (192 metres large at the entrance) which is the origin of a small cove on the right side (west), called Cala Mitjaneta, very similar to the big sister we are describing. This coastal corner, virgin and isolated, is characterized by being quite big. The beach has fine-grained white sand, it is surrounded by quite high rocks covered by a thick pine wood and some buildings, the water is calm and crystal clear, it has gentle slope, and it is not too crowded by local visitors and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good, the bay is open to the southwest, there is a sandy ground and the depth is four metres. The very small cove Cala Mitjaneta is more sheltered from the wind. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area at the moment. You can also reach the beach on foot from the nearby Cala Galdana. You only have to follow Camí de Cavalls (1,5 kilometres and a 25 minutes walk). Information about this beach may change.
