Muro-Es Comu
Platja de Muro es Comú is situated at one kilometre from Can Picafort and at 10,5 kilometres from Muro, between Casetes des Capellans, where this extensive beach begins, and the municipality of Muro, and Platja des Braç, where most of the touristic activity is. This very long sandy area is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt and virgin beaches of the bay of Alcúdia, belonging to the municipality. It is charaterized by the fine-grained clear sand, populated by juniper woods, very rare in the Balearic Islands, and pines that fix a system of dunes unique in this archipelago, which continues for hundreds of metres toward the interior until it reaches the road and where there are still a lot of trails to access this beach. The area called es Comú de Muro is Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès within the Parc Natural de s'Albufera, with a recreational area in the interior. The water is transparent, the swell is moderate or quiet, and the fine-grained golden sand is ideal for all types of visitors. The accessibility by car is difficult on foot or by car, because the area of the pine wood is closed for the traffic, except at both ends where there are streets. In the surroundings there is the wetland of Parc Natural de s'Albufera, where you can see different types of birds and other animal species. You can also reach this beach by bus. The nearest bus stop is located at about a hundred metres from this sandy area. These characteristics explain that the beach of Platja de Muro es Comú is not very crowded, the visitors are normally local families. Information about this beach may change.
