Palma Nova
Platja de Palmanova or Cala Blanca is situated at seven kilometres from Calvià, between Punta Nadala and es Carregador. This sandy area belongs to the three beaches of the village of Palmanova, this one, Son Maties and es Carregador, built on the former possessió de ses Planes. The construction began in 1934 and it is the first residential area of this municipality. The touristic buildings, the night clubs and other facilities for the mass tourism characterize this urban setting of the sandy area, and it is one of the most important touristic villages of Calvià. But it is also very crowded by local visitors. This beach has an extension of half a kilometre and it has been artificially regenerated to have the current aspect, fine-grained white sand, huge extensions which may be modified by the sea currents depending on the season. The best are for anchoring boats in front of this sandy area is in the surroundings of Punta Nadala, open to the wind from the northeast and east, where there is a sandy ground and the depth ranges from three to five metres. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nàutic Santa Ponça, at half a nautical mile. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left for free in the surroundings of the village. You can also reach this beach with the public transport.The nearest bus stop is located in the surroundings.
