Port Vell
Port Vell is situated at 3,8 kilometres from Son Servera. The name indicates that it used to be a port. A jetty can still be found and it belongs to the touristic denomination of Costa dels Pins. This beautiful and calm sandy area has pebbles and coarse-grained ochre sand, and the nearly wild coast is full of pines, bushes and tamarisks. In the surroundings there are touristic and residential buildings, and between Port Vell and Port Nou there is Torre de Son Servera, a medieval defence fortress. This part of the coast of Son Servera receives the gust of wind from south and south-east, although it protects the boats from the air that comes from the north, especially north-west, and this is why it is the most sheltered part of the bay of Son Servera, which goes from Punta de n'Amer until Cap des Pinar. The presence of rocks and small islands makes anchoring more difficult. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Cala Bona, at 1,1 nautical miles. The morphological characteristics and the touristic activity explain that this coastal area is very popular amongst local and tourist families who decide to spend the summer here. This sandy and stony area of the eastern Majorca has a medium occupancy of both types of visitors. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. You can park your private car for free in the surroundings of this beach of the bay of Son Servera. You can also reach the beach with a touristic mini-train. Information about this beach may change.
