Cala Mitjana
Cala Mitjana is situated at two kilometres from Cala d'Or. This beautiful sea inlet, with a narrow entrance, is divided into two parts, the left one is 70 metres long until it becomes a small rocky cove with no beach, whereas the right one is 120 metres long until you reach a beach o 20 metres, with fine-grained white sand, beautiful, quiet, pleasant, between the cliffs, rocks, pine trees and bushes between which there is also a village, it can't be seen from the open sea and it is difficult to reach. The marine and underwater conditions are very good for anchoring boats and for underwater fishing. The left part has a depth of nine metres, on a sandy and rocky ground, the right one has a sandy ground at five metres of depth. The low cliffs and the thick pine wood shelter this beautiful coast from the wind. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Marina Cala d'Or, at 2,1 nautical miles. The access on the land way has to be done on foot. This fact explains that the beach is not crowded at all by local visitors or tourists. The easiest but also dangerous way starts from Cala sa Nau. You have to walk for twenty minutes along the coast, on a small and steep rocky trail, falling might be dangerous. The other possibility is following the road from s'Horta until the sign toward Cala Fe. Once you are there, you have to cross the private finca of restricted access, to reach Cala Mitjana.
