Des Carregador

Platja de Morocco – the name is given by the first hotel that was built in this area-, es Carregador, Platja des Carregador or de Porto Novo is situated at eight kilometres from Calvià, between Punta des Marroig (a steep headland with a modern garden, endemic plants and an excellent panoramic view) and Club Nàutic Porto Novo or Palmanova (80 places, the coast is not very high and it is rocky), it is a very developed area, with lots of apartment blocks and hotels. This sandy area is very big, with fine-grained white sand, which was integrated artificially, calm water, it is exposed to the wind from the east, a gentle slope, and it is surrounded by a wide promenade and lots of terraces; it is an urban beach. This coastal stretch, together with Platja de na Nadala or Cala Blanca and Platja de Son Maties belong to the Platges de Palmanova, which are open to the east and where a boat can anchor on a sandy ground, the depth ranges from two to four metres. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left in the streets of the nearby village. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located in the surroundings. These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded by local visitors and tourists. Information about this beach may change.
