Es Calo Des Moro
Caló des Moro is situated at six kilometres from Santanyí and it is the most crowded beach of this area. It is also called by the incorrect name s'Almunia like the beach nearby. This virgin beach, located between cliffs populated by pines, bushes and lentisc, is sandy, with some big rocks in between. This aspect may change depending on the force of the tempests, due to the fact that the sea currents sweep the slime under the water, eliminating the solarium area. The beach is not very big, but it is very crowded, so that it finding a place for the towel might be a problem. The water is crystal clear, open to the wind from east-southeast, with a sandy ground, which is excellent for diving and for anchoring small boats, with a depth that ranges from three to four metres next to the coast. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Cala Figuera de Santanyí, at two nautical miles. The access to the beautiful Caló des Moro on foot begins leaving the car for free next to the houses of sa Comuna (at 1,1 kilometres from the beginning of the road that leads to s'Almunia, and at half a kilometre from the sea). Then you have to follow on foot walking for 400 metres on a small and steep trail that begins before the road finishes and that takes us to this rocky and sandy area along the cliffs. This problematic accessibility explains that the influx of local visitors and tourists is not too high. Information about this beach may change.
