Es Cavallet
Es Cavallet is situated at 10 kilometres from Eivissa, located between Punta de sa Torre (tower of ses Portes, 16th century, over the non navigable strait of es Freus, which separates Eivissa from Formentera) and sa Sal Rossa, as well as below Sant Francesc de sestina and the proximity of ses Salines. This coastal stretch has officially been declared nudist, Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves by the European Union and it belongs to Àrea Natural d'Especial Interès Ses Salines. This beautiful and nearly virgin coastal corner is very long, it has fine-grained white sand, the orientation is toward east, and the wind blows gently from the sea. The slope is very gentle (at 50 metres from the coast there is a depth of only 1,7 metres), and there is a system of dunes fixed by pine trees, bushes and scrubland, as well as saline ponds populated by migratory birds. The beach is not very crowded by tourists. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are safe if the weather is good. The navigator should be very careful when approaching the coast because of the emerging rocks. The best area to anchor your boat is in the north of the beach, on a sandy ground, with a depth of five metres. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The last part has do be done on a track. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport or by bicycle. The nearest bus stop is located at seven hectometres. Information about this beach may change. To confirm the data or consult changes or new features, please contact the tourism office below:
